2. Nature of Advice
Financial advice provided through ConSol is restricted to the following product categories, corresponding to the adviser's MAS licensing modules:
- Life insurance products (term life, whole life, endowment, investment-linked policies): under Modules HI and M5
- Health insurance products (MediShield Life upgrades, Integrated Shield Plans, critical illness): under Modules M8 and M8A
- Collective Investment Schemes (CIS) (unit trusts, ETFs listed on SGX-ST, Singapore Government Securities, bonds): under Modules M9 and M9A
We do not provide advice on: equities, structured products, leveraged instruments, cryptocurrencies, real estate investment trusts (as standalone securities), or tax advice.
All recommendations are prepared in accordance with MAS Notice FAA-N16 (Know Your Client and Product Knowledge) and FAA-G17 (Balanced and Fair Financial Needs Analysis) guidelines.
3. Product Manufacturers Represented
We operate on a multi-tied basis. This means we may recommend products from multiple insurers and fund managers, and are not exclusively tied to any single principal. The range of products we may recommend includes (but is not limited to) products from:
- AIA Singapore, Prudential Singapore, Great Eastern Life, NTUC Income, Sun Life, FWD, Aviva, AXA, Manulife
- SGX-listed ETFs, MAS-authorised unit trusts from fund managers including BlackRock, Dimensional, Amundi, Nikko AM, Lion Global, Fullerton
The specific products recommended will depend on your individual financial needs, risk profile, and the outcome of a financial needs analysis conducted by your adviser.
4. Conflicts of Interest
Commission-based remuneration: Your adviser may receive commissions, trail fees, or other remuneration from product providers when you purchase insurance or investment products. The quantum of commission varies by product and provider.
This creates a potential conflict of interest: your adviser may be incentivised to recommend products that pay higher commissions over products that pay lower commissions, even if both are suitable for your needs.
We manage this conflict by:
- Conducting a Financial Needs Analysis (FNA) before any recommendation, anchored to your stated goals and risk profile: not to product availability or commission rates
- Documenting all recommendations in a Rationale Card that records the basis for each recommendation independently of the commission earned
- Providing you with a Product Summary Sheet for each recommended product, which includes the commission payable
- Maintaining an immutable audit log of all advice events, accessible to MAS upon request
All actual commission amounts will be disclosed to you in writing at the point of recommendation, as required by MAS Notice FAA-N06.
5. Complaint Handling Procedure
